In 1976 Marjorie and Harmon Brown, teachers from Pennsylvania, made the decision to open a restaurant they could run during the summer. Ocean City seemed liked the perfect place to fulfill this dream, and together with the help of their five children Brown’s Restaurant was born.
It started as a small “Mom & Pop” restaurant with a few tables, deck, a small grill and yes a donut machine. And well, as they say the rest is history!
Marjorie and Harmen have since moved on to run
a quaint Bed and Breakfast in Ocean City.
Brown’s Restaurant is now second generation; owned and operated by their son Jim and his wife Melissa, who believe that quality and consistency is key, as well as reasonable prices.
For example, most of the menu items are homemade.
